A Giving of Thanks

Well my friends, Thanksgiving might not have gone down like it seemed, but life has – and that’s what I have, and if nothing else this holiday inspires the belief in and the beauty of the potential in exchanges, cooperation, and gratitude. And boy oh boy, I don’t know about you, but those built my whole world. There’s no such thing as a self made man even if it was his hands that put most of the balls through the hoop. None of us would be anywhere close without someone else behind the scene setting us up for just about every shot that goes down as ours. As on any day, it is a day of thanks and giving coming up.

I’ll be skipping next week’s update here, and then coming back the following Friday with… can it be? Yes, it can. The last Friday update of 2019. That’ll be in the first week of December, and most of the last batch of this year will have flown the nest. AND it looks like we will be living in a post-CITES world as far as musical instruments are concerned! The overzealously-applied restrictions on anything having to do with any form of rosewood (and anything else any non-woodworking Customs agents may confuse with such at any time) moving internationally is being rolled back for musical instruments next week. What this means is we are once again offering our international clients the option of rosewood fingerboards (and other trim pieces) on their new instrument orders!

We’ll talk a bit more about ordering and 2020 and the winter break in a couple of weeks… but I wanted to let you all know this NOW. And if you are from over a border or across a big pond and you DO want a Birdsong or SD Curlee bass or D’Aquila guitar, NOW is the time to get in touch if you want something from our workshop in ’20.

But for right now, I want to give thanks to you and hope if you’re gathering with your tribe between now and the next update, that it be a gathering of peace and communion; that you offer to that greater and those of less; that you express your gratitudes upward to the cosmos and beyond and below to the earth and within; that the ripples of your highest love go outward to all around you and deep inside to the space between the stardust in the matter we all share. If you are alone, know you are not alone. If you are out in-between, know you are on a path and it will lead you somewhere. If you are sad for the empty seats at the Thanksgiving table, resolve to live more in their stead and better in their place and cast the ripples they would as part of your own. Operate from a place of gratitude and things change. Give and life changes. Make every day a Thanksgiving in some way, and you change. Blessings to you and your circle from ours.

Thank YOU so much for being a part of this with us!
